Name: (Hayes) Shearer, Lee Ann
HistoryI went to K-State for 5 semesters and had a great time traveling with the marching band. (Thanks Down's Lions Club for two summer band camp experiences!) I found out that Manhattan was too big a town for this farm girl plus I had no idea what to study, so I became a truck driver on a harvest crew and landed in Norton. I have been working at the First State Bank for over 10 years. I am married to a Northern Valley boy who plays farmer/rancher/activity bus driver and we have 3 boys. My second job is singing in a group called "The Three Jacks.” I also sing in a contemporary Christian group called "The Bridge."
MemoriesBefore I became a Dragon, I attended many games watching my older siblings Randy and Cindy Hayes play basketball. Of course I wasn't watching, I was drawing on the roster and waiting for the end of the game so I could walk to the middle of the court and visit the dragon. They removed him when I was in high school. My first day of cross country practice in fall of 1988. McClosky made us run to Cawker and back (That's not fond) I was really lucky to be able to try about every extra activity. I was proud to represent my school at state x-country/track meets. And I enjoyed everything we did in Kansas History class including winning the prize of $1000 for DHS for the Eisenhower competition. Zimmerman gave us a 'B' on the assignment.
