We entered the halls of DHS our freshman year with Joyce Banks, Donna Brummer, James Cary, Duff Domoney, Debby Dubbert, Susan Garey, Matasha Grabosch, Kerry Kiper, Don Koops, Randy Koops, Linda Krier, Janet Lowdon, Barbara Geisler, Thelma Folger, Rhonda McIntire, Randy McGuire, Colleen Montgomery, Steve Lingg, Loren Edwards, Genice Murrow, Kent Otte, Jimmie Pottberg, Steven Putnam, Randall Reece, Mark Remus, Dave Renken, Karen Rexroat, Rita Rexroat, Marilyn Schreuder, Mark Smith, Joyce Stigge, Carol Stover, Allen Sumpter, Pamela Tilton, Cindy Tucker and Douglas Walter. During our freshman year we had a bake sale for a money raising project. We ended the year with a wienie roast and water fight at the river.
During the summer we lost Randy McGuire. We had a fun Car Wash for a money making project our sophomore year. Our sponsor for the year was Mr. John Wieland.
One of the many things we did our Junior year was putting on a play, "The Remarkable Incident at Carsons Corner." During the year, we lost Barbara Geisler, Rhonda McIntire. Thelma Folger, Loren Edwards, Colleen Montgomery and Steve Lingg. We had a big success selling Katherine Beich candy. We had a lot of fun planning and decorating for the Jr.-Sr. Prom. Our theme was "We've Only Just Begin," with the Beasts playing for the dance.
Our Senior year proved to be the most enjoyable year of our education. One of our many activities was selling subscriptions to magazines. We made a profit of $$$!!. We had a big success with our senior play, "The Magic Isle," a children's musical. We were then asked to take the play to the Beloit Grade School. The juniors honored us with the Jr.-Sr. Prom with the theme "Poems, Prayers and Promises." We had a joyous sneak to St. Louis where we saw Six Flags over Mid-America and the Gateway Arch; then down to the Ozarks.
