HistoryI graduated from Ft Hays St in 1974, taught 2 years of Social Studies at Trego H.S. in Wakeeney. Met my husband Mike at a church retreat in Colorado in Dec 1975 and we married in Oct 1976. We have 3 children: our son Eric is married and is a pastor at 1st Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, TX. Lauren is married and with her marriage we gained not only a son but a granddaughter! They live not far from us in Centennial, CO. Arlee also lives nearby in Aurora, CO after spending the last few years sampling college life at various colleges around the country. In addition to our 3 birth children, we are privileged to have Shannon who calls us Mom and Dad. She lived across the street from us and was best friends with our girls. Her Mom died of cancer when she was 6. She is now married and has blessed our family with a "granddaughter" who just turned 1 in March.
Since getting married I have spent the majority of my working life in the mortgage business. I have taken some time off and am back in Downs helping care for my Mom. Mid-August I will return to Colorado to start a new job, outside of mortgages -Yea!!! Mike has worked full-time for the Colorado Army National Guard for 25 yrs and is currently serving in Afghanistan.
MemoriesHome Ec classes with Mrs. Jan Schoen, riding to games on the Pep bus, Social Studies with Mr. Milt Zimmerman, math with Mr. Bob Brillhart (I was NOT good in math but he was infinitely patient!), and music with Mrs. Marj Schoen! As well as all the fun with friends.
