HistoryGraduated from KU in 1974 and spent the next 23 years as a Navy Nurse. Satisfied the itch to live by the water, and was stationed in Great Lakes, IL; Okinawa, Japan; Columbus, Ohio; Portsmouth, VA; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Camp Lejeune, NC. Raised 2 great kids, David and Diana, both married with their own families and fortunately, both live close enough to visit regularly...an hour away. Divorced in 1995, and remarried in 2002. My husband blessed me with 2 adult sons and 3 additional grandchildren. We love NC....the past 16 years, I have continued to work in a variety of nursing roles-from maternal child, to dialysis, and am currently a hospice nurse.
MemoriesI so enjoyed working after school in the high school principal's office-Kathy Tucker will probably remember listening in to locker room conversations via the intercom.....Bernita, remember biology class with all of the junior boys and Mr. Gaede? And certainly, received and have appreciated the encouragement from Marge and Jan Schoen ("rip it out"...a Home Ec experience!) to attend college.....thank you!
