History

I currently work part-time as a small business consultant with Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Past small business owner, college professor at Oregon State University and Kansas State University. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1970 started my teaching career as a Vocational Agricultural instructor at Russell, Kansas. First marriage to Irva kay Burmeister. We had two children Eric and Katie who are now both married and having children - making us proud grandparents. Remarried in 2000 to Susan Ismert who has three married children and they are also having babies (thus more grandchildren).

Memories

Enjoyed our class of 36 members and the many activities I was able to participate and be involved. Especially enjoyed vocational agriculture classes, the FFA judging contests and leadership development program. Classes at Downs High School were good preparation for going to college at Kansas State University. Actually did better academically in college than in high school.
