Name: Valcoure, Jane (Stephenson) HistoryAfter high school, I went to Fort Hays State for one year. Over the next summer, I worked in Salina in the Medical Records Department of St. John's Hospital. I liked the work there and had a chance
to become secretary to the Business Manager and Administrator of the Hospital. I met and married my husband, Jim Valcoure, and have been in Salina ever since. We have three children, Gregory, Michelle and Michael. I stayed home while the kids were young. I later
worked for 6 years as the school secretary at St. Mary's Catholic School and then the next 17 years at Kansas Wesleyan University in the Alumni/Development Office. I retired in July of 1999 because my husband was already retired. We have been to most all of the
continental states, the Bahamas, France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. We have 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren. We bowl, play golf, and go to grandchildren's ballgames and activities. We seem to always find something to do! MemoriesThere were a lot of good times at DHS. We had some really great slumber parties. School was so much different then than it is now. I'm so glad I was able to grow up there in the era I did. There were great kids and many good teachers.
