History
After leaving DHS, I attended KU; met my future husband there. We were married in 1953 -- he entered the Air Force in 1955 and the next 28 years he was stationed at a number of bases in
the States, as well as in Japan, VietNam, and Thailand. I was privileged to accompany him on the Japan assignment; we spend 3 years there. We have 3 children, John, Joy, and Jeanine, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. After my husband's retirement in 1982,
we lived in Lynn Haven, FL, Prattville, AL, and in 1999 we moved here to the Tucson area for his health. We live southwest of the city in a desert environment and love it here. It does get hot in the summer, but the standard joke is that "it's a dry heat" and easier
to take than places with higher humidity. Although we both have ongoing health problems, and I just had a second bout with cancer, we are doing relatively well. I hope to return for our class's 60th reunion in 2011.

Memories
One of the highlights of my high school days was being crowned Homecoming Queen in my senior year; I also think back fondly on our marching band when Mr. Darnell was our director.
