History

Following graduation from DHS I attended College of Emporia, Graduated BS, played 4 years of football under Coach Wayne McConnell - in Army 2 years in Berlin, Germany, Attended University of Missouri obtained MEd, EdS, EdD, taught school, Principal & Superintendent (all in Mo) the last 17 years before I retired (30 yrs) in 1987, have been enjoying retirement and Genealogy for the past 22 years. I married my wife Doris at C of E and we have 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 3 natural and 4 adopted, a boy from Russia, 3 girls from China.

Memories

On the team winning State Championship in Basketball 1949-50 sch yr, Topeka Capital selected State Champion in Football 1949-50 sch yr. Thank the people of City of Downs for the support of the School District that gave us the opportunity of a good education and future life.

Concerning who started 1st grade and who came and left during your stay at DHS. Send history to me or put in book which will be in the DHS Museum in Downs.
