Name:
Cunningham, Bill
HistoryAfter DHS I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Business Administration. I made the KU basketball team but quit in my sophomore year after messing up my left ankle. In June of 1954 I married my wife Nona who died in 2005 ten days after hip replacement surgery. In 1956 I went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co and in 1976 I became Executive Vice President of Phillips Coal Co a wholly owned sub of PPCo. I elected to take early retirement in 1986. I have two great children - a boy Jim and a girl Chris - and five wonderful grandchildren two of which were national merit scholars (have to brag a little on the grandkids!!!). I currently spend the summers at my place at the Vallecito Resort located near Durango, Colorado where I enjoy fishing, hiking, bicycle riding, dancing, singing in the church choir and being with friends.
MemoriesBeing on the team that won the state basketball championship -- winning the 2nd place medal in the 180 yard low hurdles at the KU relays -- and all of the advantages associated with growing up in Downs and attending a small, close knit school.
OtherIt would be great to hear from any DHS alumni!!!!
