Dear Fellow Classmates of 1973,

        With the Downs Celebration less than two weeks away, I wanted to let you know the latest plans for our 35^th high school reunion celebration! 
 

         This year it looks like things will be more on the informal side, but sometimes that’s all the better!  Here’s the itinerary for the weekend of July 11 & 12^th.  We will be getting together on Friday night at 7 P.M. at Culligan’s to work on a float for Saturday’s parade.  If you have a thought for a theme either send it to me ahead of time or have it ready that night.  A thought I had was a take off from the recent country song “It Was A Different World, When We Were Boys & Girls”, but I’m open for suggestions!

         After we finish the float preparations, which shouldn’t take all that long, I have made arrangements with my cousin, Joe at Myers Sporting Goods to use the private dining area there for as long as we want it that night to enjoy pizza and drinks, and just have a time to kick back and talk over old times and catch up on the current events in our lives. 

         Then on Saturday there will be an Alumni reunion for all DHS graduates beginning with a meal catered by Sherry Knouf and Dennis Muck, served from 12 to 1:30 at Memorial Hall.  To make reservations for the meal you will need to go to www.downshighschool.com  ASAP!  Afterwards there will be an open house from 1:30 to 4 for anyone that wants to stay around and visit longer.  If we decide as a class that we want to do something more that night following the parade that option is open as well.

          I look forward to seeing as many of you as can make it for that weekend to relive the memories, and if for some reason you can’t be on hand, we’d love to hear back from you and find out what’s going on in your world, so it can be shared with everyone here that weekend. 

          Hope to see you at the Celebration, otherwise in 5 years when we hit the big 4-0H!
